DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

experience fitting high-end artwork
experience in hinging works on paper
experience making mats
experience handling and packing art
keeping an organized and spotless work area
knowledge of Japanese paper hinges, wheat paste, rice starch and a good understanding of paper is a must
the ideal candidate is experienced in and comfortable with handling delicate and valuable works of art and is familiar with conservation quality hinging techniques
experience in fitting frames is preferred.

Some hinging methods we use include:

One-step hinging
Two-step hinging
Pass-through hinging Familiarity with these materials is preferred: wheat paste, Jade R, P90, Japanese papers, silicone

COMPENSATION:
Full Time Position. $50,000 to $55,000/year
